CHAMPAIGN COUNTY — Weekend traffic toward Kiser Lake State Park on SR-235 slowed to what locals called "a parade without a band," as boats, coolers, and optimism clogged the route.
"We're making memories," said one driver, making 11 miles per hour.
Deer watched from the ditch with the patience of locals.
