Man, 41, still introduces himself by what he played for the Indians

MECHANICSBURG — At a youth registration night near the High Street campus, multiple parents reported meeting a volunteer who opened every conversation with “I played ball here,” as if the gym required a password from 2003.

Records indicate he was a backup infielder who started six games his senior year for the Indians, a fact that has not limited the legend.

“Once an Indian, always an Indian,” he said, while struggling to unfold a card table outside the school complex.
