URBANA — Guests entering a local living room this month are immediately guided to a shadowbox containing a “Season Complete” plaque from a coed softball league that plays diamonds around town and does not keep standings anyone can agree on.
“We battled,” said the honoree, who batted .214 and once slid when there was no play at the base at a field near the Gwynne Street side of town.
Her husband confirmed the plaque cost more to frame than a night at the Gloria Theatre plus popcorn, which he described as “an investment in morale.”
