NORTH LEWISBURG — Tensions remain elevated at a congregation near Maple Street after the potluck clipboard filled with brownies, cookies, and “surprise” while the vegetable column stayed empty long enough to become a parable.
“I brought green beans last year,” said one member, who spoke on condition of anonymity and also of martyrdom. “I’m not doing it again so someone can swing by St. Paris Shoppers for a tray and act like they built the fellowship hall.”
Organizers posted a polite Facebook reminder. It received 14 likes and zero new vegetable commitments.
At press time, someone had angrily written “STORE-BOUGHT FINE” across the top in red pen, which theologians are still interpreting between Triad games.
